There are several golf courses close to our accommodation, the nearest being the course at Windermere Golf Club. This 18-hole golf course is located in a beautiful setting in the low fells South of the village of Windermere, with a backdrop of the Lakeland Fells.
A golf course once existed in Ambleside, on Loughrigg fell not far from
Quaysiders, however this is long gone. As well as the Windermere
course, there are courses at Kendal and Burneside (Carus Green), Grange
over Sands and to the North at
Keswick and Penrith. All of these are well within reach, and there are
more golf courses in the Western Lakes, for example at Ravenglass and
St. Bees.
Guests are welcome to play at Windermere Golf Club providing that thay
are members of a recognised golf club or golf society and have official
handicaps.
As well as the local courses, there are driving ranges at Kendal, Ulverston and Penrith.
